This establishment has a great atmosphere that is only eclipsed by quality and service. During the week they run a lunch buffet, but they also have a tasty and extensive menu. All that coupled with the choice of your favorite Leinenkugel's on tap makes for a great dining experience.

Great example of a country road-house style bar. Lots of stuff to do, great food, and cheap drinks. Highly recommended way to spend a summer afternoon. Rent a tube/canoe/or kayak, have them drive you up river, and spend a couple of hours paddling downstream. When you get out on their dock, head inside and enjoy pizza and cold beer. Lots of other great stuff on the menu too. Cheese curds are excellent. Tiki style bar outside. Northwoods/log cabin theme inside, usual bar stuff like pool and darts. Crowd is definitely country. No hipsters or frat/sorority kids here. They've got a really cool inflatable heated volleyball dome that they put up in the winter, so you can play year-round.

Loopy's was awesome, I wish we could have been there on a Friday or Saturday night. The space outside is great, it's really big and they have a bunch of games like bean bags, 3-4 sand volley ball courts, fire pit, outside bar, horse shoes, bolo golf, I mean they had a ton of stuff. It looks like this is a hub for floaters to leave their vehicle and get driven to a drop off area to start the river. We were there for lunch and chose to sit on the rail looking over the river. I got a burger, unfortunately it wasn't very good. I don't think the other meal we got was good either, I don't even remember what it was...Only being there once I really don't know what their specialty is, but I would come here for the atmosphere and drinks instead of food. Like others have said it is worth a trip off the main highway to check it out.

I can't say enough about loopys- what a fantastic establishment and great staff. Ashley was our server/bartender/driver/shotgirl/photographer/etc. ... and we couldn't have been more impressed with her attentiveness and hospitality. we stayed in Chippewa for two nights and found ourselves back at loopys for dinner and drinks to close the bar both nights- due to how great the service was, how delicious the food was (fish Friday and cheese curds anyone?!) and the fact we had a DD! even though it was pouring rain the entire weekend and we didnt get to enjoy the river or outdoor recreation they had- we still enjoyed every minute of our time there! cheap drinks and delicious food. recommended our friends & will be back! thanks -the Chicago clan.

WORTH GETTING OFF THE MAIN ROAD FOR !! If you go near Chippewa Falls, or "CHIP" as the locals call it you need to make 2 stops : Leinenkugel's Brewery and Loopy's Saloon. Free beer samples at the Leinie Lodge and great food, especially cheese curds ( we are in Wisconsin), and super ambiance, of a sporting nature at Loopy's. I have only been here as a pit stop , but maybe next year I can come and spend a day floating. Everytime I've been here the other customers have been very pleasant to me. Even if I am wearing my VIKINGS shirt in Packer territory. :-) Overall great bar food, great service, great staff, great location, great décor, great prices, and great everything. Just Great. Loopy's is a fine spot for a burger and a beer on one's way back from Chippewa Falls. Ambiance: Dark roadhouse with a plain, rustic decor Crowd: Enthusiastic and slightly inebriated locals on a Saturday evening Menu: Wisconsin favorites and Leinenkugel beer Service: Friendly and attentive Food Ordered: 1/3 pound jalapeno burger and fries Food Quality: The beef was grilled perfectly and burger nicely balanced Value: Fairly priced Notes: The crowd became a little sloppy early. Dinner was interrupted twice by a flying cue ball.

Our group of 4 stopped here Sunday around 2pm 10/14 after touring Leinenkugels's. Two of us are from OH and 2 from MN. The service was very friendly and good. The atmosphere was good (TV's were on low volume which is a plus) and seemed clean. The onion rings and cheese curds were very good. Two of us (the guys) got burgers & waffle fries, both of which were good enough. Two of us got fish tacos (they came with rice & beans - just OK). I had expected them to be corn tacos (which I prefer) with baked fish (which is how other places I've been have cooked it), BUT they were flour tortillas and small pieces of deep fried fish. The sauce on them seemed to be a sour cream based sauce with hot pepper spice, which was good but with each bite seemed hotter. I only ate 1 of the 2 tacos - mostly without the flour tortilla which was too big. My daughter ate both her tacos, but also without much of the tortilla. The prices were reasonable. I would go back if I'm ever in the area, but get something else for the entree.

Just a great place to go for some cold drinks, friendly service, great prices and good food. The food was average bar food (3 stars) but the prices and the portions bring that up to a 5. we had 3 meals 1 appetizer and 5 beers plus tip for $60 AND we got to watch hot chicks in bikinis play volleyball. I can't wait to go to this place on a weekend night.

Nice pub on the river. Pretty big place with volleyball court and outside seating too. The service was excellent. Food was just OK. Good beer selection.

Great time. Outside Tiki Bar rocks! Pizza, fish fry, heart stopper burger. All worth a try.

The waitstaff and owner are very nice but the food was disappointing and frankly disgusting. What you advertise on the menu should at least closely resemble what comes out. It's really clear the kitchen staff is lazy and doesn't care.

Tubing was amazing followed by great thin crust pizza! The logger and buffalo chicken is amazing for pizza, and our server was a doll! I'd come here again with the family! :)

When you are a small business and the road moves away you can do one of three things - move - go out of business - or up your game. Loopys chose #3. I haven't been here in several years, not since they rerouted 29 around Chippewa Falls. Its been remodeled - very nice. The food and beer also appeared to receive an upgrade. Both food and the service were spot on. They had New Glarus Spotted Cow on tap as well as a few hundred flavors of Leine's and some local craft beer. I had a cow, man. My wife and I each had a BBLT. The extra B is for extra bacon. They come in 1/4, 1/2 and 1 pound size. I went with the 1/2. It was solid and tasty. Next time I'm going for the whole pig. Sides were a choice of fries/tots/broccoli/soup/salad(+$1). I tiked their basic fry. I didn't get Loopy, but we had a good time.

First time here. Just found driving by. Excellent service great food. Prices were fair. Staff bent over backwards to help find a place for my newborns carrier. Too bad i live 450 miles away or I would be here all the time. See you next year!

Casual atmosphere and friendly staff, even Loopy came to see how we were doing. Had the fish fry and amazingly awesome fried tater tots. The happy hour included buy one get one 1/2 off and a drawing for a free round. The big downside for me was there lack of a wine list as they only have the single serving bottles of Sutter Home.

After 1 bad visit here, I was willing to give them another shot. It wasn't worth my time. On the first visit, service was fine but the food was AWFUL. Do not order a pizza, it is about as generic as they come. The appetizers are pretty evidently pulled out of a microwave. On my second visit, the service was awful. We were one of two tables in a tent outside, and it took about 5 minutes for a server to stop by (and she brought 4 menus for 7 people). Our drink order took about 15 minutes, and the waitress completely missed an order from a person at our table (they didn't leave or anything). The food was similar to the first visit - I ordered a burger with fries which were literally cold and soggy, and the cheese was clearly microwaved onto the burger (seems to be a theme here). Its cool that this place has volleyball and outdoor activities, but that's about all I would recommend here. Tubing would be worth it if the prices to rent a tube weren't higher than the price to buy a tube at the store...

Our group of 8 stopped in on July 11 for dinner under the tent. The service was good and the food was very good. I recommend the Philly with au jus. The tiki area closed down around 10:30 and we were encouraged inside where the crowd was minimal and atmosphere much more stuffy. Our wives wanted to play a game of darts and listen to music. The next thing we knew, we had been running the dj music and we were leaving at 2:30. It was the most fun we have had on these couples weekends and will recommend Loopys to everyone heading that way.

Stopped on our way from Minneapolis to Wausau - well worth getting off the main road for! Excellent fish fry and the menu was extensive enough with sandwiches, burgers and pizza to please everyone. Hubby is from Wisconsin and loves his fish fries and he even gave this one two thumbs up! Nice clean restaurant and waitress was friendly and quick with drink refills.

When I order $10 nachos in America's Dairyland, I expect a detectable amount of cheese...also, thanks for keeping it classy with the stripper pole...

Bacon cheeseburger was awesome and full of flavor. Cheese curds were very tasty with the beer batter coating. Leinie's on tap was cold and hit the spot. Healthy option as well with grilled chicken and steamed brocolli. Definitely worth the stop.

Won a shandymonium trip to wisconsin and we chose to have a day at loopys activity. When we got there we had a choice to either kayak, canoe, or tube down the river to get to loopys. My boyfriend and I tubed with a group of people. It was so relaxing and fun. We got to know the people as we drifted towards loopys while drinking some leinies from a floating cooler, listening to some tunes on a floating speaker as well. Took us about three hours to finally get to loopys, and had a nice tan going on. We went up the stairs and saw a bar outside with beach volley ball and games of corn hole/bags. And then there was a bar inside as well. They also serve great food. I had an amazing time and I will never forget the day I had at loopys!!!

After drinking at the brewery we found Loopys on Yelp for lunch. This is my new favorite place to go. I just wist it was closer. We orders the nachos and cheese curds for apps and the curds were so damn good. The nachos were off the chart too. I had the french dip and this is by far the best dip Ive had ever. This was the best sandy you could think of. The rest of my clan had the burgers and they all loved them too. If you don't try Loopy's you are missing out. To me its worth the 5 hour drive. My hats off to them. Cheers.

My boyfriend and I took a mini-vacation to Chippewa Falls, and after a tour of the Leinekugel's Brewery we headed to Loopy's for dinner. We could not have picked a better place to go! This is definitely a local joint, and with all of the great specials and activities it is easy to see why the locals keep coming back. They have an outdoor patio and many volleyball leagues and it looked like they had a float down the river service. The inside was why we came however, and Loopy's delivered on all of our expectations! The food was great and the staff was incredibly friendly, even to us new-comers. The bf had the heartstopper burger, which feature three layers of cheese and came with perfectly seasoned house-made fries. I decided on the fish dinner and was served a huge plate of fried fish along with a baked potato and coleslaw. This is a great place and we will definitely be back on our next trip through Chippewa Falls!

Looking for a place to accommodate our group of 45 hockey players and parents at an out-state tourney and decided to give this a try. The owner, Loopy, seemed very on top of things and arranged a time for our group that would not diminish service to his already reserved parties. We arrived and walked out the back door of the bar, into a weird tented tunnel and through a revolving door right into... SUMMER. Warm, sandy, bright - what more could you ask for? We had several reserved tables in a large area next to the giant tiki hut bar. Waitresses were efficient and knew how to handle a large group (smartly arranging tabs by jersey number). The food was as expected... pretty standard bar fare. Tots were crisp and tasty but waffle fries could have used a bit of seasoning. Pizza looked good but I didn't get to taste it. Our BBLT's had nice crispy bacon, but was otherwise uninspired. But at this price point and providing the relaxing feeling of being in the tropics during the middle of a Minnesota winter, there were no complaints from me! Kids had a blast just running around barefoot in the sand and trying to play volleyball. There are nets separating each court and all around the sandy area, so balls do not end up in your dinner. Wear shorts and a tee if you are playing - it is warm. Really a cool set-up! The giant adirondack chair was great for pictures. Loopy checked in a few times to make sure everything was going okay. Everyone had a great time - we'll be back next time we find ourselves in Chip!

Tried the Cheese curds & a few Sammie's (turkey bacon & the pulled pork) had a Shandy, not bad & would definitely come again.

THANK YOU to the staff and Loopy himself for the BEST weekend of our summer so far! My boyfriend and I went tubing with two other couples and it was the best tubing trip we've ever been on. ALL of their employees are incredible, and gave amazing customer service! About a half hour into our trip we realized that one of our tubes had a small leak in it. We called Loopy's and within minutes they brought us a brand new one and we were on our way again. Also, we felt like royalty being shuttled around by Loopy and his crew to and from our campground... talk about accommodations! :) After our return to Loopy's after the river ride, we hung out and played some bags and had a couple cocktails. Bottom line... wonderful weekend! We have concluded that we will be back next year and cannot wait to go back! PS. Their beef sticks are BOMB!!!
